A document of real emotion
My First Sony has been an international hit playing in Israel for 14 years. It arrives at the Fringe as a one man show, performed by renown actor Roy Horovitz.Yotam is an eleven-year old. his once loving family is falling apart and he feels unmoored and abandoned.
His father gives him a tape recorder and the kid begins to record his life, in essence creating a personal archive, to which he returns time and t i me again trying to see through the pain - to make some sense of what is happening to him and those he loves.
My First Sony is not a soap opera. The story feels genuine, Yotam is every 11 year old you've ever met and the story teller avoids milking his story for cheap emotions and teas.
There will be tears but they will be very real.
